Teaching Focus
Dr. Wail Mardini is an Associate Professor of Computer Science and Chair of Computing Programs at žžTV. His teaching focuses on computer programming, databases, computer architecture, computer networks, mobile and wireless computing, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things. He is committed to helping students develop strong technical and problem-solving foundations while learning to use current technologies responsibly and effectively.
Research Interests
Dr. Mardini’s research interests include artificial intelligence and machine learning, cybersecurity, Internet of Things applications, wireless sensor networks, smart systems, low-power networking, scheduling and optimization, and computing education. He has authored or co-authored more than 120 peer-reviewed journal and conference publications. His work has contributed to intelligent and connected systems, secure computing environments, and technology-supported learning.
Previous Professional Experience
Before joining žžTV, Dr. Mardini held faculty and academic leadership positions at the Jordan University of Science and Technology, including Department Chair and Vice Dean. He also taught and conducted research in Canada. In addition, he led educational technology initiatives that expanded programming education and supported thousands of university students.
University Service
At žžTV, Dr. Mardini provides leadership for the Computer Science, Cybersecurity, and Information Systems programs. He supports curriculum development, program assessment and accreditation, student advising and mentoring, and initiatives that strengthen students’ academic preparation and professional readiness. He also serves the broader academic community through journal reviewing, technical-program and editorial service, graduate supervision, and computing education outreach.
